貝塞爾函式

貝塞爾函式 Z_n(x) 是由遞推關係定義的函式

Z_(n+1)+Z_(n-1)=(2n)/xZ_n
(1)

和

Z_(n+1)-Z_(n-1)=-2(dZ_n)/(dx).

貝塞爾函式更常被定義為微分方程的解

x^2(d^2y)/(dx^2)+x(dy)/(dx)+(x^2-n^2)y=0.

主要有兩類解，稱為第一類貝塞爾函式 J_n(x) 和第二類貝塞爾函式 Y_n(x)。（第三類貝塞爾函式，更常被稱為漢克爾函式，是第一類和第二類的特殊組合。）

幾個相關函式（球面的，修正的，...）也透過稍微修改定義方程來定義。
