考慮方程的解

x^y=y^x.
(1)

實數解由 x=y 給出，對於 x,y>0，以及以下方程的解

(lny)/y=(lnx)/x,
(2)

由下式給出

y={exp[-W_(-1)(-(lnx)/x)] for 1<x<e; exp[-W(-(lnx)/x)] for x>e,
(3)

其中 W_k(z) 是 Lambert W 函式。此函式在上方由藍色曲線圖示。

有理引數解由下式給出

x=(1+1/k)^k
(4)
y=(1+1/k)^(k+1)
(5)

對於 k=+/-1, +/-2, ... (Dunn 1980, Pickover 2002)。這些解在圖中以紅點表示。
