對稱統計量 k_(r,s,...) 定義如下

<k_(r,s,...)>=kappa_rkappa_s...,

其中 kappa_r 是一個 累積量。 這些統計量推廣了 k 統計量，最初被稱為 “廣義 k-統計量”（Dressel 1940）。 術語 “polykay” 由 Tukey (1956; Rose 和 Smith 2002, p. 255) 引入。
