Stomachion

Stomachion 是一種 14 片的分割謎題，類似於七巧板。 Magnus Ausonius（公元 310-395 年）指出，在歸於阿基米德的殘缺不全的手稿中描述了它。這個謎題在拉丁文字中也被稱為“阿基米德的 Loculus”（阿基米德的盒子）或“syntemachion”。 stomachion 這個詞的詞根是希臘語 sigmatauomicronmualpha^'chiiotaomicronnu，意思是“胃”。 請注意，Ausonius 將該圖形稱為“ostomachion”，這顯然是原始希臘語的訛誤。

這個謎題由 14 個形狀各異的扁平碎片組成，排列成正方形的形狀，碎片的頂點位於 12×12 網格上。有兩對碎片是重複的。與七巧板一樣，目的是重新排列碎片以形成有趣的形狀，例如上面（Andrea）所示的大象。

以邊長為 12 的正方形為例，這些碎片的面積分別為 3、3、6、6、6、6、9、12、12、12、12、12、21 和 24，它們的相對面積分別為 1、1、2、2、2、2、3、4、4、4、4、4、7 和 8。有趣的是，正如 Coffin 指出的那樣，透過連線規則方格網格上的點形成的所有多邊形的面積始終為整數比率。
